Fly Over States

You may be wondering why my calendar was mysteriously blocked out for half of September, or where I've been for the last 10 days. The simple answer: everywhere.
Every couple of years, my family and I take a road trip across the country visiting all the amazing wonders of the good ole USA. We spend hours upon hours in the car, sometimes driving for over 24 without stopping (except for gas and a driver switch). People tell us we're crazy, but we love every minute. These trips allow me to capture amazing photographs that few people have the opportunity to take, and I'm so excited to share a few of them with you.
Prints and wall art of these images are available for purchase. The prices are the same as my regular portrait prints ($8 for an 8x10, $20 for an 11x14, $45 for a 16x20, etc.). You can see more of my road trip photos on the Imagination Photography Facebook page, and in the Road Trip gallery on the website.

I believe a cross-country road trip should be on everyone's bucket list. I can't explain to you, or even show you with photos, just how beautiful America is. You must see it for yourself. We've been asked many times why we don't just fly to Yellowstone, or California, or wherever it is we're going. If we did that, we'd miss everything! Jason Aldean released a song that perfectly captures what it's like to drive across the country:

"That sounds like a first class seat
On the plains of Oklahoma
With a windshield sunset in your eyes
Like a watercolor painted sky
You think Heavens doors have opened...
Take a ride across the Badlands
Feel that freedom on your face
Breathe in all that open space...
You'll understand why God made those fly over states."
