This March we're Spring-ing forward and giving back.

When I first decided to start my own business, I had all kinds of plans. I was (and still am) dead set on making the world better one photograph at a time. Step one is making each of you smile when you see your images, which in turn makes me happier than you could ever imagine. Step two is taking that feeling of happiness and empowerment your smiles provide me and giving back to a bigger cause. This Spring I am putting that second step into action.

You may or may not know that March is National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Awareness Month. MS is a neurological disease that affects over 400,000 people in this country. It causes pain, numbness, vision loss, speech and swallowing problems, and can even lead to temporary paralysis. I was barely a teenager when this disease, which I had never even heard of, hit close to home.

Several years ago, one of my best friends was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. At the time, I had no idea what that meant and was terrified. After thumbing through medical dictionaries and researching on the web, I learned that while there is no cure, there is hope.

For the months of March and April, Imagination Photography is donating 5% of all print and product sales to Clay Walker's "Band Against Multiple Sclerosis" foundation. BAMS is a non-profit organization founded by Clay Walker (who was diagnosed with MS in 1996) to help fund research and education for Multiple Sclerosis.

It may only be "a drop in the bucket" as they say, but to the thousands of brothers, sisters, parents, children, and best friends out there living with MS, it might make all the difference.

If you want to learn more about MS and the BAMS foundation, here are a few links you'll definitely want to check out:

Snow Day!!... Or week, rather :)

Like most of the rest of North Alabama, I've been "snowed in" for the better part of this week. OK, I wasn't really snowed in completely. You know I couldn't resist a photo opprotunity like this! Yesterday, I had a "Photo Day." I really wanted to get some shots of Bucks Pocket, but even I wasn't about to attempt that little drive after I saw the road... or ice ramp, I should say. I did, however, make it down to High Falls. I also took some shots around my house and around my parents' place. I just thought I'd share a few of my favorites with you guys. If the snow sticks around until Saturday, I may have some snow portraits to show you :). I hope you all have had as much fun as I have with the white stuff!

This is the view from the bridge at High Falls.

And this is the actual bridge. This is one of my favorite photo spots, and it was gorgeous in the snow!

High Falls :)

The view of Town Creek from the Chigger Hill Bridge.
This barn might look familiar to some of you. I did a shoot here back in the Fall. It's right down the road from my house and is gorgeous right now!

This is the road between Point Rock and Bucks Pocket. I've always loved the way the trees hang over this road. It's even more beautiful in the snow.

This is actually one of the shrubs in front of my house. It's true, I'll take a picture of anything :). LOL

And this is my favorite shot. That's my wonderful Brandon walking down our road on Monday morning.

Hats off to 2010. Bring on 2011!

Wow.... 2010 has been an amazing year! It may sound corny, but I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for this awesome "official" start to my photography career. It's been confusing and stressful at times, but I wouldn't trade a minute of it! I hope you all have had as much fun as I have. 2011 is going to be even better!

But there are a few changes you guys need to know about.

The first of which made me want to cry when I heard the news. The print lab I have been using for the past 4 years will be going out of business this week :(. When my mom and I walked into Scott Photo in Boaz in search of my first professional camera way back in 2006, I never thought I would learn so much and make such good friends there. To Steve and the rest of the staff, I can never thank you enough for the help you've given me. This dream might still be just a dream without you. We'll miss you!
After the initial panic of "what the heck am I gonna do now," I set out to find the best printing solution for myself and my wonderful clients. Thankfully, I didn't have to go far! I'm excited to tell you that you will still be getting the professional print quality you love at affordable prices!
The majority of print prices will stay the same, but there are a few changes to the bigger sizes as well as specialty products. I've added more options and products for you to choose from and plan to offer more great options (like custom and unique framing) later on in the year. The new prices are already listed on the website, but I've included the full listing below. I'm also happy to tell you that I've already made plans for several specials and events throughout 2011. I'll give ya a sneak peek of those later ;).
I hope everyone enjoyed their white Christmas! (Still can't believe it!) And have a Happy New Year!

XOXOX
Miranda
